Q: What do you do at Moz?

As an Associate member of the Community Team, I do everything from moderating the Q&A Forum and onboarding new Associates, to zapping spam across Moz.com and reviewing YouMoz posts. On occasion, I also help the Audience team produce special content projects like Inbound Marketing & SEO: Insights from The Moz Blog. It is extremely rewarding to be able to give back to the community that has played a starring role in my SEO education for seven years now, and a true pleasure to work with such a fantastic team of Mozzers!

Q: What do you do for your clients?

I provide hourly SEO consulting and website audits for small and medium businesses, web designers, and in-house marketers across the U.S.

Q: Did you always want to be an online marketer?

Ha! I'm a little too old for that question, but thanks :)

Actually, I grew up wanting to be a writer or a teacher. After studying English/Journalism at Baylor, I moved to the Carolinas, and became both. I taught English as a Second Language in public schools, and then dove into newspaper journalism. Several years later, I took a detour in the nonprofit sector, and then fell into SEO after relocating to Colorado. All these years later, I feel very fortunate to still be doing a lot of writing and teaching. Not the kind I'd imagined as a kid, of course -- but I get to help people and do what I love just the same.

Q: Mac or PC?

My father purchased a PC when I was five years old for the express purpose of writing his dissertation. Three long years later, my family got a computer that I was allowed to use -- by myself. It was an Apple IIc, and it was love at first sight. I committed to Apple right then... for better or worse, if you know what I mean.

Q: What's something most people don't know about you?

The first major concert I attended was headlined by the Cranberries. I spent one summer nannying for an English family just outside of London. And I have recurring lucid dreams about flying like Superman... that I wish were real. Does that work?
